ABT Platform
An ABT platform for unified ticket management
The platform is built natively on an Account-Based Ticketing (ABT) architecture. In this model, tickets are linked to a user account—named or anonymous—rather than to a physical medium. This approach brings greater flexibility and simplifies the overall travel experience.
Passengers can use a range of media to travel, including contactless cards and mobile applications. These act solely as identifiers at validation points, while all ticketing data is securely managed within the account. The system ensures a consistent and seamless experience across all channels.
ABT also enables occasional travellers to use their bank card directly on validators. The card becomes the ticket, allowing for quick and effortless pay-as-you-go journeys without prior registration.
Users can easily create, access and manage their account via the website or mobile application, using secure login credentials. They benefit from full visibility and control over their tickets and travel history.
For transport operators, a dedicated back-office interface provides full oversight of the system. It allows teams to view user accounts, manage ticketing operations and control key actions such as activation or deactivation, ensuring efficient and responsive service management.
The platform is natively built on an Account-Based Ticketing (ABT) architecture. To meet regional interoperability requirements, it also integrates a flexible Card-Based Ticketing (CBT) option, available at two levels:
- Read-only mode, enabling the recognition and acceptance of CBT cards issued by partner networks;
- Read/write mode, allowing the issuance of CBT cards and contracts, and ensuring full interoperability across regional networks.
This hybrid approach offers transport authorities the flexibility to support existing ecosystems while progressively transitioning towards ABT.
A remote top-up module further enhances the solution by enabling the online purchase of CBT tickets without requiring physical card presentation. The contract is securely written onto the card during its first validation on the network, eliminating the need for users to visit a sales office and streamlining the customer journey.
The Open Payment option enables passengers to travel using their bank card directly on board, with charges consolidated into a single transaction at the end of a defined period. This approach removes the need to purchase tickets in advance and simplifies access to the network.
Faster validations help improve passenger flow, reduce dwell times and enhance the overall boarding experience.
In addition, an automated best fare mechanism (fare capping) calculates the most advantageous price over a set period, based on actual travel patterns. This guarantees that passengers always benefit from the lowest available fare, with no extra effort required.
Beyond traditional payment methods available at sales offices, the solution also supports direct payment on validators. Passengers can simply tap their bank card to travel: the transaction is processed instantly, and the card becomes their travel identifier.
This frictionless approach removes the need for prior purchase and speeds up access to the network.
Together, these payment options deliver a seamless, fast and secure experience, while improving accessibility for both occasional and regular travellers.
Connect your validators and analytics dashboards directly to your AVL system to ensure accurate validation context and actionable data.
This integration enables precise monitoring and analysis of network activity, supporting better decision-making and operational optimisation across the network.
Already using cards on your network and want to avoid forcing passengers to replace them in a service centre or online?
The data import option enables the seamless transfer of existing card and customer data into the ticketing platform, ensuring a smooth transition with no disruption for passengers.
The Back-Office and Open Stats solutions deliver a complete suite of tools to manage and optimise ticketing operations. They enable operators to configure fares and user profiles, monitor sales performance, manage supporting documents, and access advanced statistical dashboards.
By providing clear, real-time insights into network activity, they support faster decision-making, improved operational control and continuous service optimisation.
